The Packaging Partnership Programme organised a Mandatory Packaging Reporting (MPR) Training on 3rd November 2022, conducted by the trainer, Mr Remi Cesaro, Founder and Executive Director of Zero Waste City. This trainingaims to support companies with the MPR and it’s deliverables, with detailed explanations on what packaging waste to report and the reporting procedure.
Mr Cesaro started the session with a brief introduction to the MPR as well as the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), followed by data reporting which included the following methodologies:
-
Identifying the packaging to be reported
-
Determining the material composition and weight
-
Collecting data and reporting procedure
After each section, practical exercises were done to allow participants to better understand the section that the trainer had covered. Mr Cesaro also defined some terminologies, such a biodegradable, compostable and compost while explaining the specific distinctions to clarify misconceptions.
The training ended off with a sharing of various 3R best practices and plans in different stages of the product life cycle. This would assist the participants in their own 3R plan reporting component of the MPR.
Overall, the trainingreceived an excellent rating from the participants so do expect a second run of the training in January 2023! Join us if you would like to start your MPR journey and create a sustainable future!
